It is a great honour and with immense pride that the BOSC team has been chosen to manufacture the chairs for Notre-Dame de Paris, and so we are able to participate in the cathedral’s reconstruction after the terrible fire ravaged the historical site in 2019.
This project is the fruit of collaboration over several months with designer Ionna VAUTRIN who proposed an unassuming, timeless chair leaving the cathedral’s liturgical furniture and architecture to take the spotlight. The BOSC team warmly thanks Ionna for the trust she has placed in our know-how working with wood and for the opportunity of producing her creation. We will be making 1,500 of these chairs to welcome visitors to the cathedral at the end of 2024.
BOSC would also like to thank Monseigneur Laurent ULRICH, Archbishop of Paris, for his choice and for the recognition of our work, as well as the artistic committee and Revoir Notre-Dame de Paris association.
Finally, the BOSC team congratulates designer Guillaume BARDET and artist Sylvain DUBUISSON, whose work has been chosen for the liturgical furniture and the Reliquary Shrine respectively.
